I was wondering how to choose the best running shoes the other day.  After eight years of running you might think I know a lot about it, but as it turns out I don’t.  I’ll tell you why.

I’ve always avoided the specialty running stores when buying running shoes because I thought that they were just trying to make more money.  I spent my time in the outlet shoe stores and in the big box sporting goods stores.  They always have a good selection of shoes, but there’s usually a teenager that doesn’t know anything about running shoes.

So for my site, Maintain Fit, I recently found a real running shoe expert and made a little video.  I’ve posted some of it to my blog.  He talks about why certain features are best for your foot, not a bunch of junk about what the manufacturer calls this or that.  Here’s a link to the post on my blog:
